Cy X. Sharp is Director of Accreditation and Certification at ABS Quality Evaluations (ABS QE), a role he has held since joining the organization in 2016. In this capacity, he holds operational and strategic accountability for ensuring full conformance with applicable accreditation body requirements, governing standards, and certification scheme rules across ABS QE's portfolio of third-party conformity assessment programs.
His work encompasses the governance of audit program integrity, scheme-level technical competency, accreditation surveillance readiness, and the continuous improvement of certification processes in alignment with ISO/IEC 17021-1 and applicable IAF Mandatory Documents.
With more than 39 years of applied experience in the design, implementation, and continual improvement of management systems, Mr. Sharp brings practitioner-level depth to the intersection of conformity assessment and organizational performance. He works directly with senior leaders of client organizations on the practical application of ISO requirements — translating normative clause language into actionable controls and measurable outcomes — with a particular focus on the distinction between leadership engagement that is documented and demonstrable versus that which is merely ceremonial. Drawing on decades of audit experience across diverse industry sectors, he helps organizations build management systems that perform consistently, not just at audit time.
