Revisions to International Standards

IAQG Supplemental Rule SR004

The International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG) has established a supplemental rule that defines requirements for transition to the 9104-1:2022, 9104-2:2023 and 9101:2022 standards for stakeholders within the IAQG Industry Controlled Other Party (ICOP) Aerospace Quality Management System (AQMS) certification scheme. This revision (Revision B) will address the implementation timeline for the 9104-1:2022 standard to address the availability of AQMS auditors and the publication of dependent standards in IAQG-supported languages. Stakeholders are encouraged to continue transition activities for so long as the dependent information is available in the IAQG-supported language use.

As more information becomes published/released, ABS Quality Evaluations, Inc. (ABS QE) will provide this information to our clients by way of email notifications, website updates, and webinars. The IAQG has requested that certification bodies notify their clients that it is very important to begin this transition work immediately so that all organizations are able to complete the transition on time.

ISO 27001:2103 to ISO 27001:2022 Transition

The transitioning process from ISO/IEC 27001:2013 to ISO/IEC 27001:2022 is expected to be completed in three years, starting from the publication date of ISO/IEC 27001:2022, October 25, 2022.  Therefore, the current 2013 version certificates need to be transitioned to the new version before October 31, 2025.

The transition audit can be carried out at any scheduled audit during the 3-year transition period but can also be performed as a special transition audit.

Organizations that are certified against ISO/IEC 27001:2013 can initiate the update of their ISMS based on ISO/IEC 27001:2022 at any time and the main workload is to implement the new controls of Annex A.
