ABS Quality Evaluations Selected as a Certification Body
for LEED Green Building Rating System

ABS Quality Evaluations, Inc. (ABS QE) has been selected by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) as one of the certification bodies for the LEED Green Building Rating System. ™
The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System™ encourages and accelerates global adoption of sustainable green building and development practices through the creation and implementation of universally understood and accepted tools and performance criteria. LEED certification provides independent, third-party verification that a building project meets specified green building and performance measures.
The U.S. Green Building Council is a nonprofit membership organization whose vision is a sustainable built environment within a generation. Its membership includes corporations, builders, universities, government agencies, and other nonprofit organizations (www.usgbc.org).
USGBC decided to work with ABS QE and a few other select certification bodies, in order to expand service, eliminate backlogs, comply with ISO standards and allow those entities to focus more fully on their vision of market transformation. Working together with the certification bodies will allow USGBC to deliver a substantially improved, ISO compliant LEED certification process that will be able to grow with the green building movement.
