Hazardous Substance Process Management
QC 080000 (IECQ HSPM)
Released in October 2005, IECQ QC 080000 is intended to help organizations manage hazardous substances in their components and products through Hazardous Substance Process Management (HSPM). Based on ISO 9001, this international standard defines the requirements for establishing processes to identify and control the introduction of hazardous substances (HS) into products.
Manufacturers of electrical or electronic products or components should use the standard to develop processes to identify, control, quantify and report the amounts of HS in their products. Certification to QC 080000 can demonstrate compliance with international, national and local specifications and regulations such as RoHS (Restriction of use of certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment) and WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment).
