This course is intended to provide participants with an understanding of the structure and terms of the ISO 9001:2008 standard. It addresses the fundamentals of quality principles and how these are applicable in the maritime industry. The course is intended to familiarize participants with the process of incorporating the requirements of ISO 9001:2008 into a marine integrated management system with appropriate implementation as well as guidance on interpretation. The course also reviews techniques used in internal auditing for integrity enhancement and continual improvement. To reinforce understanding, extensive use is made of case studies.
